**Please note, as of late 2017 all podpoi come standard with knob handles, instead of floops with swivels.

Many people who wanted podpoi heavier at first found they are a pretty ideal weight after a few spin sessions. If you want them heavier, you can definitely add weight to your podpoi. Here are 2 methods below.

FLOWMASS

You can add flowmass to your podpoi. It can be tricky to close the pod shell over the mass - but it will work. Installation instructions are included below.

If you have knob handles:

1. Remove the tri-ring from your pod shell and slide it towards the knob handle

2. Detach the pod shell from the capsule light

3. Remove the c-ring from the capsule light

4. Slide the flowmass over the capsule light, making sure that the wider end of the flowmass sits towards the base of the pod shell

5. Re-install the c-ring

6. Re-attach the pod shell

7. Slide the tri-ring down the leash and re-install on pod shell

Tip: It's easier to start with inserting just 2 petals through the tri-ring, and then pushing and massaging the third petal up under the tri-ring

The top of the pod shell will bulge out a little. It is possible to add flowmass without cutting it, however if you really truly cannot close the petals of your pod, keep reading :)

A. Mark on your flowmass the point at which it needs to be cut in order to allow the petals of your podshell to close.

B. Pull the mass off of the capsule and leash, and use a very sharp blade to trim the mass down at your markings. Be sure to trim the thinner end of the flowmass, so you get more weight in your poi head.

C. Slip the mass back over the capsule and check if the podshell will close easily. Trim the mass as needed.

D. Once it fits, slide your tri-ring back over your leash and close up your pod.

Please note that for podpoi with flowmass added, you will need to remove the tri-ring and slide the flowmass up to access the usb port to charge your capsule.

If you have floop handles:

1. Remove the tri-ring from your podshell, and slide it off the leash. Put it down in a safe place. You do not need to remove the capsule light from the pod shell.

2. Slide the flowmass down over your handle+leash and over the capsule.

3. Slide the tri-ring down the leash, and secure it over the pod shell petals, and voila!

Tip: It's easier to start with inserting just 2 petals through the tri-ring, and then pushing and massaging the third petal up under the tri-ring

MARBLES

The petal chambers were designed to be both structural, aesthetic and a vessel for extra mass for those who wanted heavier poi. We initially thought people could simply add silicone caulk/glue, but the regular stuff is thick and not as clear and looks like plastic poo in the pod. It kind of ruins the beauty.

Two-part silicone typically used for mold and model-making is very thin until it cures and would be a good option, but is expensive and difficult to use. We have been planning to offer silicone plugs that fit the petals perfectly, but they will take some time to develop. So for now —> glass marbles!

The ⅝” (inch) glass marbles commonly used for floral decorations fit quite nicely in the petals inside the pod and add plenty of weight, you can use 2, 3, 4 or 6! We will likely offer them or something similar on our site, but for now you can find them yourself at many craft-shops, party/decoration supply shops or online.
