**Please note, as of late 2017 all podpoi come standard with knob handles, instead of floops with swivels.

While we don't offer preassembled phatty cord flowleashes on our website, we can assemble them for you for the cost of the parts and a custom fee of $20. If you would like us to set this up for you, please leave a Customer Note with your order during checkout.

You can also DIY it. We sell all the parts on our site, and have instructions on how to install phatty leashes on podpoi below.

A phatty flowleash set is composed of:

Installing knob handles on to phatty cord leashes: To start, you will need to install the knob handles onto the phatty cord leash.

Materials & tools needed:

- phatty cord

- knob handles

- small piece of string / wire

-lighter

-pliers

How to:

1. Loop the string/wire and thread it through the knob. Thread phatty cord through the loop. Use the string to pull the cord through the knob.

2. Thread the end of the phatty cord through desired number of large washers.
3. Experiment with different number of washers, get your leash length perfect for you.
4. To finish the end:

  • Tie a knot to secure the handle
  • Cut off the excess cord
  • Melt the excess cord above the knot and press the melt against the knot to seal it

5. Pull the cord up and it’s playtime!

Installing phatty cord leashes into pod heads: Next, you will need to connect the leashes to the podpoi heads

Materials & tools needed:

- your poi

- knob handles

- reliable lighter

- pliers with narrow tips (a leatherman type of tool will work)

- phatty cord

- large welded o-rings

- capsule loops and o-rings

 How to:

  • Disassemble your podpoi & remove the default leash
    • set all your parts somewhere safe, so you don’t lose them!
  • Insert capsule loops into your capsules and install the silicone capsule o-rings to secure them
  • Cut phatty cord in half, ensure you have 2 equal lengths of phatty cord to work with
  • Melt the end of 1 phatty cord and smoosh it with the pliers, so that it is ‘stick’ shaped.
  • Sean describes this in a video:

  •  the section where he talks about melting the end to work it through an o-ring starts at 4:10, but you might want to check out the whole video, as it is full of useful info about customizing flowleashes

  • Slide 1 large welded o-ring onto the phatty cord

  • Run the cord through the capsule loop

  • Run it back through the large welded o-ring - pliers are very helpful at this point

  • For capsule handles, repeat steps 4 - 7 through the swivel at the handle end

  • Repeat steps 4 - 8 for your other poi head

  • Once you’ve pulled the cord through and evened out the lengths, trim the cord to your desired length.

  • Trim and re-melt the end, so that it is a solid disk shape - this melted disk will secure the o-ring on the cord and prevent your leash from sliding back through the o-ring.

  • be careful of over-melting and/or accidentally making sharp edges.
