FPC will NOT fit into regular capsule shells, as the leash hole is too small. We modify capsule shells by drilling out the leash hole to fit the 10mm (3/8") FPC rope - here's how you can is you're up for some DIY:

To modify stock capsule shells to fit FPC you will need:

  • tape
  • drill
  • 10mm (3/8”) drill-bit
  • WEAR SAFTEY GLASSES AND GLOVES!

We highly recommend a "step drill bit” which guides itself nicely into the hole. If you're using a standard drill bit, be very careful! You must drill very straight to avoid the bit catching and shifting around.

  • Step 1: Remove electronics:
Open the capsule shell and remove the board and battery. Grip the sides of the button board to wiggle it out of the shell. It might be hard, but the rest will follow.
  • Step 2: Tape:
Tape around the end of the capsule to keep it held tightly together while drilling.
  • Step 3: Drill:
Carefully drill out the hole. If using a step bit be vary careful not to drill into the next, larger step!
  • Step 4: Clean:
Remove the tape and use the side of a drill-bit, sandpaper, file, or other tools to remove and smooth out any sharp edges that might cut into your leash.
  • Step 5: Reassemble:
Put your rigs back together and find your flow!
