Flowtoys capsule v2 lights now have a USB-C port for charging and firmware updates, and a fancy new shell that is a bit shorter, but with a larger leash connection for contact poi, diffusion and coral texture inspired by the incredible coral poi!
Capsule 2.C has all the highly refined modes and functionality of V2 capsules and they are cross-compatible, so you can add them to your existing collection, but there are some differences in the plastic shell that require adapters for some props, included for free.
The electronic features are the same as previous capsule v2s:
- 64 customizable modes
- wireless sync & control
- accelerometer-based kinetic awareness
- adjustable brightness, white balance etc.
- flowtoys app enabled
The key differences are:
- usb-C charging
- capsule 2.C shell is shorter at 88mm (old capsule v2 is 95mm long)
- capsule 2.C shell leash hole is designed for 10mm cord (leash adaptors come with all 6mm props like podpoi)
- capsule 2.C shell is diffused with coral voronoi pattern
These differences will not affect most props, but if you are upgrading or adding to existing rigs, here are some things to consider below.

how to swap capsule 2.C shells & electronics
Capsule 2.C and capsule v2 shells and electronics are cross compatible, but there are some things to note:
- capsule 2.C shells are shorter at 88mm, while capsule v2 shells are 95mm long
- if you're putting v2 electronics into the new capsule 2.C coral shells, you will have to remove the battery foam puck spacer
Watch this video to see how to swap capsule shells and electronics.
capsule 2.C leashes & leash adaptor
Capsule 2.C shells have leash holes designed for 10mm FPC cord. If you are using smaller cord like 6mm smithy cord, you will need an adaptor. This video shows you how to install and remove the leash adaptor, and what to do if you have super old school flowcord with a knot.
All new flowtoys props with 6mm cord like podpoi will automatically come with the leash adaptor installed, so you should be all set.
capsule 2.C & flowcaps / tube-based props
Capsule 2.C shells do not have the "shoulders" for interfacing with the flowcap on the button end. Watch the video below to see the difference, and how to remove capsules from flowcaps.
capsule 2.C bumper rings / tube-based props
Capsule 2.C has new bumper rings for making capsules feel solid inside tube-based props like staffs, batons, flower sticks etc. Check out this video to see the different bumper rings and the new capsule link and how to install these parts.
capsule 2.C links / double capsules in tube-based props
Capsule 2.C is shorter than capsule v2, so we created a new capsule link for double capsule setups like for our capsule contact staffs. This video shows you how to install the new capsule link.
3D-printed capsule 2.C loops for capsule remote & pod darts
Capsule 2.C has shorter shells than capsule v2, so we made new 3D-printed loops for capsule remotes and pod darts. Check out this video to see the two different new loops and how to install them onto your props.
capsule 2.C & capsule handles
Capsule 2.c doesn't fit in capsule handles seamlessly. This video shows you why. If you have capsule handles and would like the new 2.C, we recommend swapping your electronics into a v2 capsule shell.
capsule 2.C & flowmoja balls or flowmoja poi
Capsule 2.C doesn't fit seamlessly in umoja spheres. If you have flowmoja balls or flowmoja poi, we recommend swapping the 2.C electronics into the old capsule v2 shells.
