Welcome to your new oxbow meteor/puppyhammer! We ship the oxbow meteors unassembled since folks have to size the cord/install the nodes based on their specific body dimensions.

This page includes tips on how to size and assemble your oxbow parts so you can get right into flowing :)

Sizing your oxbow meteor

Fit and sizing are everything with an oxbow meteor.
  • If it's too long, the head hits the ground.
  • If it's too short, the poi are virtually unusable.
Fitting should be done in person, with some trial and error to ensure the best fit. We provide more than enough cord in the pop'n flow oxbow meteor, finishing the ends is easy, and the nodes are adjustable so you can do it yourself at home.

Here is a video guide for sizing your oxbow by Matt Freeman - sizing part starts at 2:16:

Attached is a pdf with an excellent visual and verbal guide to Oxbow, length and node placement by Charlie Cushing of Lanternsmith.

Assembling the leash, cord connectors and tubes

Once you've sized the leash and installed the nodes, check out the PDF on the support page linked for information on how to:

  • attach the smithy cord to the cord connectors
  • attach the cord connectors to the tubes

You can find the cord connector manual here: https://flowtoys2.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/6000163089-cord-connector-manual

Installing the pod shells and sleeves

The last step is to install the pod shells/sleeves onto your oxbow meteor end tubes. Check out this support page for information on how to do that: https://flowtoys2.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/6000261703-how-to-install-a-pod-shell-and-pod-sleeve
