Nimbus grip is a great option for all types of staffs, and many folks prefer it because of it's durability, thickness and soft/squishy feel.

A side affect of the grip being so resilient and long lasting is that it can take some time to break in. The outside of the grip gets a smooth vulcanized layer on it that needs to be scuffed up before it really works great.

To do that, take some 60 or 80 grit sand paper and lightly scuff the surface to get through that smooth top layer.

The reason you lightly do it, is not to peel up any of the edges. We recommend doing this again every 6 months to a year, depending on when the top layer wares smooth again. You can do this for years with nimbus and it will keep right on going. The silicone foam is very durable, so this will not shorten the life of this grip :)
