Yes, it is normal for your dragon staff shaft to be open on both ends.
The shaft plugs typically serve 2 functional purposes:
- Keep out dirt
- Prevent the carbon tube from being crushed by over-tightening bolt-on hard aluminum hubs.
We do not sell bolt-on hubs and the cap is either not needed or interferes with the hub/head options we do offer:
- 1. Flowbonacci day heads: extend past the end of the shaft, preventing it from digging into the dirt.
- 2. Flowtoys LED heads: have an integrated cap, and the cap in the end of the shaft gets stuck inside, and reduces the rigid area of the shaft inside the head, making it less secure.
- 3. Threeworlds fusion fire heads: insert into the end of the shaft, so the cap must be removed.
