Welcome to your new vision cane! We are thrilled to be able to offer these wonderful performance props and hope you have an incredible time with yours :)
This support page includes information about:
- vision cane assembly and modularity
- the 2 handle options - derby and hook
- the 2 base options - flowcap and quad tip
- how to charge the cane
Important safety warning: The vision cane is very sturdy, but it is NOT a certified mobility device and is sold for performance, manipulation and decorative use only. The blade uses 1” x 7/8” diameter polycarbonate tube that is incredibly durable and can easily handle full body weight if pushing straight into it, but can also bend and even buckle if you lever into it by weighting the outer end of the handle.
Check out the video below for information about the vision canes including:

- Modularity with sabers and staffs (2:24)
2 types of handles - derby and hook
We offer 2 handle options for the vision canes - the derby and hook!
The derby handle:
- has a more stable hand feel
- shorter overall profile
The hook handle:
- more appropriate for manipulation purposes as it can fit a juggling club or ball larger than 77mm diameter
- taller than the derby handle = longer overall cane length
Check out this video for more details about the hook and derby handles:
Charging the vision cane (flowcap)
In order to charge the vision cane you'll need to twist and pull the flowcap off the end.
- Tip 1: Hold the cap closer to the top where the buttons are, twisting off. If you hold it closer to the bottom of the cap, you will not release the buttons.
- Tip 2: It helps to use a bit of "monkey grease" (oils from your hands) or a tiny bit of vaseline on the parts of the tubes that interact with the caps and connectors. This prevents stiction and squeakyness, and generally makes interacting with your caps and connectors a more smooth experience.
Check out this video for additional information on how the flowcap works/removal tips:
Using the quad tip cane base
Aside from the flowcap, we also offer a quad tip base folks can use as the vision cane base. This allows the cane to stand upright on its own, and provides a wide base of support for added stability.
Check out the video below for information about the quad tip option, including:
